Whenever I use a face mask or use an exfoliator, I like to make this tea to help calm and soothe my skin.

My 'No Makeup' Makeup Routine

Since I talked about what I'd use for a 'no makeup, makeup' look in a previous post, I thought I'd talk about how I achieve it.

How I Control My Shopping Addiction

Though I can't say I'm a fan of exercising, I can say that I am a big fan of shopping. I could be walking for hours, but won't feel tired while looking for a new MLBB lipstick, or a LBB. The downside of this sport..pastime..addiction is, a thinner wallet. In order to keep my wallet happy, I've been doing a couple things to take the edge off my urge to go shopping.

Products For a 'No Makeup, Makeup' Look

Even though I love a good smoky eye or putting on a colorful lipstick, I tend to stick with a 'no makeup, makeup' look. It can be tricky to do, but the right products can help make easy to achieve.

Things I've Learned on Moving & Decorating

There's quite a few things I've learned after moving quite a few times, and some I've learned from other people. Here are some I've found to be the most useful.

While I had more variety in my makeup bag for May and June, I had more a mainstreamed one for July.

"Window Shopping" At.... II : Beauty & Fashion

Since I haven't been sleeping very well for the past few days (thanks to having hay fever), I've resorted to "window shopping" on the internet again.

Y.N.M. : Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette

There's something about eyeshadow palettes that I can't help but have a weakness for. I've been intrigued with Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette for quite a while, but the price has been stopping me from getting it. Since it has been on my list for a long time,  I finally took the time to look for/compare swatches, and tutorials using these shadows before biting the bullet.

Mango with Tapioca Pudding

Mangoes with sweet sticky rice is one of my favourite desserts (or snacks), but since I don't always have sticky rice, I thought I'd try using tapioca pearls instead.

YNM: CoverGirl Roses TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette

Since I don't have any rosey toned eyeshadows in my collection, I thought I'd try getting one from the drugstore.  There were quite a bit to choose from, and I almost purchased this palette from covergirl.

Just a Little FYI (Update)

Hi everyone! I just wanted to tell you guys that I have an influenster account. Just like my posts, the reviews are honest, and to the point.  I'm not a fan of long reviews, so I do my best to keep my thoughts/reviews short and informative.

Beauty Edit: May '16

I love putting on makeup, but there are times where I get stuck in a rut, and end up only reaching for certain products.  To try to show my other products some love, I've been rotating the products I use in order to not have the same looks every month.

Current Skincare Routine

While I normally wait till the end of the year to talk about what products I've loved using, I couldn't wait to talk about these products.  My skin makes it challenging (to say the least) to find products that won't make it moodier than it already is.  However, with some trial and errors, I've developed a routine that works for me with these products.

Je Suis Accro

While I'm not normally drawn to scents that have bourbon and tonka bean notes, there's something about this perfume that I gladly make an exception for.

The first time I tried this scent, I immediately wanted to wash it off my wrist. However, I thought I'd wait to see how it works with my body chemistry before I do.  At first the scent smelled slightly sweet and peppery(?), which I was not a fan of.  After an hour the peppery scent dissipated, and I was able to detect the vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood notes.

I can see myself wearing this during the spring and summer even though it's a scent not typically worn during the warmer months.

There's just something about this scent that makes me smile whenever I smell it, which is great since it lasts a long time on me.

What can else can I say?  It's captivating, and I'm addicted.

Why?!

Why must companies decide that they should "fix" what already works, or worse, discontinue it?  What made them think this was somehow a good idea to change or discontinue products that their customers enjoy using?!

Sadly, this In The Know* palette by stila is no exception.  While there are tons of neutral colored palettes out there, this is the one I use the most.  Unlike other palettes, there isn't one shadow in this one that isn't pigmented or easy to blend.

Oh well, when the time comes to replace it,  I can get one of stila's Eyes Are The Window palettes in Mind.  I wonder if it would end up being my new HG products..hmm..

Do you have any favorite products(s) that have been reformulated or discontinued?

BLTN (Better Late Than Never)

Even though this mascara has been out for so long, I was never intrigued enough to try it, until a couple weeks ago.

After trying different ways to apply this, I can safely say I was better off not getting this mascara.  I've tried wearing this by itself, layered with different mascaras, and it still flaked on me!

Having a bunch of little black flakes on my face is never a good look....at least in my book it's not.

I wish I was one of those who loves this product since it's so wallet friendly, but sadly that isn't the case.

Do you like this mascara?  What mascaras do you reach for the most?

If you'd like to see what mascaras I do like, please check out my boards 1 & 2.

Yes. No. Maybe | Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello! I'm Angela, & I'm addicted to eyeshadows.  Whether they come in a pan, pot, tube, or stick, I'll happily give them a go. Needless to say, I was intrigued when I heard about Natasha Denona's palettes, and did "some" research on them.  After watching a numerous videos, and reading reviews, I can confidently say that I'm not missing out on anything by not getting either of the palettes for the following reasons.

First off, I didn't find the swatches very impressive, and I've seen quite a few of them.  Sure they're pretty, but I just didn't get excited about them when I watched them being swatched.  The metallic, and shimmery shades looked nice, but I can get a similar result by using fix plus, or eyedrops with other eyeshadows.  Sure it's an extra step, but at least I won't need to spend a lot to get a similar look.

Secondly, the ingredients dosen't justify the steep price.  If a product containing a bunch of parabens isn't a concern for you, I'd say stick with one that's more wallet friendly. Sadly, these palettes do contain parabens, and cost $239 (usd and not including tax).  Personally, I can't see how the ingredients would make these palettes high end.

Last but not least, the limited amount of matte shadows in these palettes doesn't make them complete.  Considering how much these cost, there shouldn't be a need to use another palette to complete a look.  I would personally find these a pain to work with when I'm doing someones makeup.  It would be different if I was only doing my own, but when it's someone else,  I don't want to have to take out a bunch of other ones to get the job done.

I don't know if I'm just hard to please, but I just don't feel like these palettes are worth getting.  If I bought these before doing my research, I would not hesitate about returning them.

Did you get one or both these palettes?  What do you think about it/them?

Links for the palettes can be found in my N.F.M board.

Product On My Mind (P.O.M.M.)

If you were to check out my P.O.M.M. board on Pinterest, you'll see quite a bit of lip products I'm interested in trying (and possibly keep in my collection...since I can be really picky).

Having tried a bunch of different lip products, so I know which ones I use the most, and which ones I would even consider trying on.

These cushion tints would be something I'd love to be able to play with and would most likely fall in love with.

From the reviews I've read, these have a matte finish, without the uncomfortable feeling that other matte lip products have. Though like any other matte lip product, it would be best to exfoliate and moisturize your lips before using this product.

The down part is, this was..is? only available in Korea and other Asian countries (and I think for a limited amount of time...that or only certain colors where).

I know I could just buy it online, but I'm not a big fan of online shopping.  Even though it can be a pain at times, I enjoy shopping for things in person, and not having to worry when I'll get what I ordered, or if it will arrive in one peace.

What products do you wish you could get, but is sadly isn't available where you live?

My Favorite Products For 2015

Happy New Year!

Just like last year, it was a little tough to decide which products I loved the most to add to my favorites.

My favorite products are a mix of tried and true faves, and some new products that I grew to love as well.

Makeup wise, I mostly stuck with warm neutral colors, but I also used few fun colors every now and then, so I wouldn't be stuck in a rut.

I didn't think I'd be able to find one of my signature scents anytime soon, but I found myself constantly reaching from one of my favorites from last year. This is the one I pick every time I want to feel confident and put together.  Now, if I could just find a light floral scent, I'd be set.

For skin/hair care products, my routine is still streamlined, but a few products replaced the ones I used last year.

What were your favorite products?
