Out & About | Outfit 16

Capes aren't something I would usually want to wear, but I'd happily make an exception for this one.

That, and it' reminds me of  'Little Red Riding Hood'.

If you would like to know where I found certain items, may I suggest checking out my pinterest boards?

Considering the sporty trend that's been going on lately, this might be as close to 'sporty' as I would get.

Chicken Pho

Since I’ve was craving soup a couple days ago, I made some chicken pho. The recipe is similar to the beef version, but this time I used two four inch pieces of ginger, which made the soup taste even better.

Tips:

If you don’t have anise seeds, or cloves, try adding a one or two teaspoons (or more if you desire) of Chinese five spice.

Have some leftover chicken? Try adding it to a salad.

What kind of soup have you been craving lately?

While I wouldn't normally be drawn to orange shoes, there's something about this shade of orange that I really like.

Out & About | Outfit 17

When ever I'm in the mood to wear pink, I like to pair it with something black, so don't feel or look to girly when I wear it.

I'm not usually a big fan of bows, but I like how this sweater looks girly & a little sexy all at the same time.

While I haven't worn this much pink since I was in high school, I would happily make an exception for this outfit.

Out & About | Outfit 7

For those days where I want to stay at home wearing my comfy clothes, but have to head out the door.

Having a coat like this can make me look put together no matter how casual my outfit is. (That & I bet this coat would be like wearing a silk robe).

What do you like to add to a casual outfit?

Just a few things I’d want to add to my wardrobe for fall (especially the cardigan, and purse).

What do you want to add to your fall wardrobe?

Out & About | Outfit 4

I’m over wearing pants that need a belt when I’m traveling by plane. It’s already a hassle having to take off your shoes, and needing to take out certain things from your bag, and all that jazz; I don’t want to have to deal with having to remove a belt too! Wearing a dress like this would make things  much more comfortable, and easier.

Depending on my destination, I might also put on a camisole, and a pair of leggings. If heading to somewhere where it's warm, or hot, I would pack a summer dress (in my carry on) that I can quickly change into.

What would you want to wear on a plane?

There's something about this top that makes me want to wear it jeans rather than a skirt.

How would you want to style a top like this?

Out & About | Outfit 1

Since I’ve collected quite a bit of items for MFW (My Fantasy Wardrobe) (from my Pinterest board), I thought I’d create outfits from them, like the one from my previous post. I’ll also add some makeup that I’d want to use from my beauty wish list (which is also on Pinterest), and anything else that comes to mind.

Le Petite Robe Noir

Ahh..the little black dress. Something I believe every gal should have in her wardrobe no matter what her style is.

When you find the right one (or ones)it can be something you can always count on to make you look stylish and sexy without having to worry about what to wear it with.

I would would put on a pair of heels, and use a small purse, and put on stud earrings to complete the looks.

For makeup, I’d simply put on some foundation, a small touch of highlighter if my skin’s looking a bit dull, fix my brows, put on a couple coats of mascara, and slap on some lipstick.

After spraying a bit of perfume on my pulse points, I'm good to go.

Do you have a LBD?

Smokey Eyes

Smokey eyes, two words that can either make a girl say ‘no problem’, or ‘oh no’.

I used to be the one that said the latter, but with practice, and experimenting, I eventually was able to say ‘no problem’.

Going on YouTube to see how others do a smokey eye helped a ton. My favorite YouTubers to watch would be: gossmakeupartist, Lisa Eldridge, Jaclyn Hill, & RAEview. They do a great job at showing how it’s done, in a way that you’ll feel that you can do it too. There are others that I’ve watched that did a nice job, but still left me feeling that I wouldn’t be able to do it.

The one tip that I can give anyone, would be to make sure you blend well. Not blending the shadows enough/properly can make the look a bit odd, which I’ve learned the hard way.

One of my go to palettes to use for a smokey eye is NAKED 2 by urban decay. It has colors that I usually gravitate towards, and works well with the other shadows that I have.

What do you like to use for creating a smokey eye?

Leche Flan

Even though I'm not a big fan of leche flan, I always made an exception for my grandma’s. There was just something about hers that never failed to put a smile on my face.

Fortunately with a bit of experimenting mine is similar to how hers used to be. They both have a nice smooth, silky texture that I look for in flan.

Ingredients:

6 egg yolks

Half a cup of condensed milk

Half a cup of evaporated milk

One teaspoon of vanilla extract, or one vanilla bean cut and scraped

¼ teaspoon of coconut extract

¼ cup of white sugar

Method:

1)      Fill a metal steamer about half way with water, and boil on high. When the water boils, lower the temperature to medium high.

2)      Melt the sugar in a nonstick pan, or sauce pan, and pour into a six inch glass or metal pan. Set aside.
a.       If you’d like, you can also use ramekins.

3)      Combine the rest of the ingredients together, and pour it into the dish.

4)      Cover the dish with a piece of paper towel, and then cover with foil.

5)      Steam for 25-30 minutes. The flan is done when the center slightly jiggles.
a.       If the center doesn't slightly jiggle, your flan might get a bit too firm.

Let the flan cool for a bit, then put it in the fridge to chill for about one to two hours.
When you’re ready to serve, run a knife along the edges, put a plate on top, and flip over.
Carefully remove the pan and serve.

Hope you'll like it!
